Since 1991, we have invited our community
to join us in a “Journey of a Lifetime”. We encourage anyone who has an interest in helping others, to join us
for a four day Mission trip to a suburb of Tijuana, Mexico called El Florido.
We share the good news of Jesus Christ
through the building of relationships with the local folks of El Florido and the building of 12 x 12 or 12 x 16 foot
shelters for them to live in.
We participate with a Baptist Mission group called “Caravan
Ministries”. They provide us with a dorm to stay in, the supplies to build the shelters, the leadership to build the
shelters, and ministry leadership during our stay.
One of the many things we learn is the importance of a
Servants Heart.
First we must learn to observe. Then we must create a good
relationship with the people….get to know them. Then start needed projects working with them. This doesn’t happen
in a day. We always want to do a “quickie” job and rush home. You will find a deep and rewarding experience if
you will prepare yourself to take a slow and faithful approach to your missionary ministry across the border. A first time
visit should be a time of observing and acculturation. This can produce vision. Vision is the first step in building a healthy
ministry.
We do a four day mission trip, Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday. Thursday and Sunday are travel days and Friday and Saturdays are work days.
Our travel days consist of, busing to the Oakland airport,
flying to San Diego, renting vans and driving to El Florido.
Our work days consist of, morning worship, a full day of
house building, and an evening exploring the greater Tijuana area.
We invite you to join the journey and share the blessing........
